The Simple Pleasures

I've rediscovered one of my favorite childhood pleasures. I bought a bottle of Strawberry-Kiwi Snapple the other day. Snapple was always one of my favorite drinks when I was young, but I haven't had one in over eleven years. It was delicious. However, that wasn't the  best part. As I was drinking the Snapple, I held the metal cap in my hand. On the cap is a button that pops up when the bottle is opened, to let the drinker know that the bottle hasn't been tampered with. As I rubbed my thumb over the cap, I accidentally pressed in the button. It made a satisfying clicking noise. I clicked it again. A memory flashed through my mind. It was me, back in 1999, drinking a bottle of Snapple and clicking the cap. I have no idea why, but clicking that bottle cap was reassuring, like each click washed away some of my troubles. I suggest that you try doing it. It has a semi-therapeutic quality. I now drink Strawberry-Kiwi Snapple fairly often, and although the juice is still just as good as it used to, the part I really look forward to is the cap.
